Description
Performed FEA-based modal and impact analysis on the plunger–ratchet retraction mechanism to investigate squeaky noise and vibrational resonance during actuation. Identified tooth geometry interaction and contact dynamics as primary contributors to acoustic emission. Conducted empirical acoustic testing to correlate simulation results with real-world sound signatures. Modified ratchet tooth profile and optimized spring constant to reduce impact severity. Evaluated POM material behavior under repeated sliding contact and introduced surface coating adjustments to minimize friction-induced noise. Refined tolerances to improve engagement consistency and reduce micro-slip. Achieved ~12% reduction in operational noise while maintaining actuation reliability and durability performance.
